Bee Vang, 28, pleaded guilty in Ramsey County District Court Monday of one count of interfering with the privacy of a minor, according to court records.

His public defender, John Riemer, did not respond to calls for comment about Vang’s decision to plead guilty.

The young girl was changing clothes at the retailer this past fall when she suddenly noticed Vang peering at her from under the dividing wall of her dressing room, court documents say.

He then proceeding to crawl into her room, where the 8-year-old was standing without pants on.

Saying nothing, Vang then reached for the girl’s leg.

The girl ran from the room, prompting Vang to crawl back out of it and barricade himself inside a nearby changing stall, court documents say.

A staff member eventually got a key to give police access to the room.

Vang was found inside it along with “several condoms, condom wrappers, a razor blade, a Rice Krispie bar and a Rice Krispie bar inside of a condom,” according to the criminal complaint filed in the case.

The incident took place at a Kmart in the 200 block of Maryland Avenue in St. Paul.

Vang is scheduled to be sentenced in February.
