Now’s your chance. The St. Paul Raptor center will host its Outstanding Owl program at the Maplewood Nature Center at the end of October.

Attendants will get the chance to meet an owl “up close,” according to information provided by the Maplewood Parks and Recreation Department.

The event starts at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 28 with a Halloween-themed puppet show and treat. The raptor center’s presentation will begin at 5 p.m.

Older kids will have the chance to dissect owl pellets after the show while younger kids make an owl-themed craft following the presentation. Kids also will learn owl calls and get the chance to take a night hike in search of owls around the nature center’s pond.

The event costs $5 and registration is required, by going here. For a full list of fall programs offered at the Maplewood Nature Center can be found here.

The Maplewood Center Center is at 2659 E. Seventh Street in Maplewood.
