A section of Minnesota 5 will close again this weekend as construction crews continue work along the bridge deck that spans the Mississippi River.
The highway will be closed from Minnesota 55 to Davern Street beginning at 10 p.m. Friday and remain inaccessible through the weekend.
The road will reopen at 5 a.m. Monday, according to information released by the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Traffic will be detoured to Minnesota 55, Minnesota 110 and Interstate 35E. Motorists are advised to watch for signs.
The closure will allow crews to paint the main bridge and finish work on the Edgcumbe Road and Shepard Road bridges. Work on the Minnesota 5 project is expected to end in November.
