A St. Paul man was charged with 14 felonies Thursday for allegedly possessing over 700 pornographic images of minors.
The Ramsey County Attorney’s Office filed the charges against Austin Christopher Reece via warrant.
Fergus Falls, Minn., police tipped off local police after receiving information from the FBI that the 25-year-old was hoarding pornographic images of children on his electronic devices, according to the charges. Reece previously lived in Fergus Falls.
St. Paul police found him hiding in a closet when they executed a search warrant at his home on the 700 block of Fuller Avenue this past April.
Reece admitted to downloading, trading and distributing sexual images of minors, according to the charges.
Officers found nearly 800 images on his iPhone and external hard drive, some 450 of which matched child sexual abuse victims tracked by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
No attorney was listed for Reece in court records and he could not be reached for comment.
