Robert Morse was appointed to fill the seat on the Vadnais Heights City Council left vacant when the suburb’s new mayor was sworn in earlier this month.
He will fill Heidi Gunderson’s spot on the council. Gunderson was elected mayor of Vadnais Heights in November and officially assumed the role Jan. 8, according to city staff.

To do so, she had to resign her seat on the city council, which she was previously slated to hold until January of 2021.
Seven candidates applied to fill the open spot, and, after interviewing all of them, the council selected Morse.
Morse’s background includes work with the White Bear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club of White Bear Lake and the surrounding community, and the Vadnais Heights Chamber of Commerce.
He will be sworn in next week.
