Jeffrey Mark Eldred reportedly met the woman on Tinder, an online dating website.
He invited her over to his Shoreview home earlier this month, and the two drank together before making out.
Too drunk to drive, the woman would later tell police she decided to spend the night. That’s when authorities say Eldred recorded her without her permission sleeping naked in his bed.
That’s the account in a criminal complaint against Eldred filed Monday in Ramsey County District Court charging the 32-year-old with one count of attempted third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
The charge accuses Eldred of attempting to engage in sexual conduct with someone incapacitated at the time.
Weeks after their encounter, the woman called police to report what she said happened Nov. 3.
After passing out in Eldred’s bed, she said she woke up to find him putting his penis in her face, the complaint said. He then proceeded to try and have sex with her throughout the night despite her repeatedly telling him no, charges say.
The next morning, when she asked him about it, Eldred reportedly denied any knowledge of odd behavior overnight, the woman told police.
While on his computer later that day, the woman said she found 40 videos that appeared to show Eldred sexually assaulting different women as they slept, the complaint said.
The woman couldn’t get the videos to play, but she took a picture of them and later showed them to law enforcement, charges say.
Each video was reportedly identified with different initials, according to authorities.
Police executed a search warrant at Eldred’s home last week and spoke with him about the allegations.
He told officers he and the woman had consensual sex several times the night they’d been together and that the videos she found were taken with consent of his past girlfriend, the complaint said. He said others depicted a woman he met in New York whose name he couldn’t remember, charges say.
Police contacted Eldred’s past girlfriend and showed her some of the videos. She reportedly said she had no knowledge Eldred had recorded her.
Police also found a video of the woman he met on Tinder naked and sleeping from the night she stayed at his place, the complaint said.
Officers are continuing to try to identify other women shown in the videos.
Eldred could not be reached for comment and no attorney was listed for him in court records.
He made his first court appearance on the allegations Monday afternoon.
Eldred has no past felonies on his criminal record in Minnesota.
