A St. Paul man has been charged in connection with the homicide of a 36-year-old in St. Paul’s North End earlier this week.
Gabriel Robert Kimbrough, 23, faces one count of aiding and abetting second-degree murder in the slaying of Brock Cecil Larson, according to a criminal complaint filed Friday in Ramsey County District Court.
Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 300 block of Burgess Street about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. They found evidence of a shooting but no one shot. Soon after, Larson was dropped off at Regions Hospital, police said.
The Minneapolis man was shot multiple times. He died at the hospital early Wednesday.

Kimbrough is not suspected of being the shooter, according to the Ramsey County attorney’s office. A police spokesman said there is “an active and ongoing investigation.”
The shooting took place after Kimbrough, Larson and the man who drove Larson to the hospital met up for a drug deal, according to the criminal complaint.
The driver later told police that he and Larson were instructed by Kimbrough to go to a residence on Burgess Street that night because someone at the home wanted to buy marijuana from Larson, the complaint said.
Kimbrough stayed outside with the man while Larson walked to the rear of the house wearing a backpack.
As the two waited, the driver told police a white man suddenly walked past their vehicle and lifted up his shirt to indicate he had a weapon.
Kimbrough yelled something and took off after him, the man told officers.
Then, within seconds of Larson rounding the rear of the house, his acquaintance said he heard gunshots and saw Larson running back toward their SUV.
Larson said he’d been shot and needed help, the complaint said. Larson died after being rushed into emergency surgery.
Police later determined that a phone that had been in Kimbrough’s possession had been in contact with a cellphone recovered near the scene of the shooting, according to the complaint. Video footage collected from a home in the area also reportedly shows Kimbrough running through the neighborhood after the shooting.
Kimbrough was arrested at his probation officer’s office and declined to give a statement to police, the complaint said.
Kimbrough’s criminal history includes convictions for two aggravated robberies and carrying a firearm without a permit.
He was expected to make his first appearance on the charge Friday afternoon.
