Paddle a canoe, shoot an arrow or scurry up a climbing wall at Hidden Falls Park on the Mississippi River in St. Paul this weekend.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and St. Paul Parks and Recreation are teaming up to host a festival at the park Saturday, Sept. 24, in conjunction with National Public Lands Day, according to the DNR.
The event will include opportunities for the public to test drive a big voyageurs’ canoe on the Mississippi, hit a bull’s-eye with a bow and arrow, scale a climbing wall and fish from the riverbanks.
Equipment will be provided and all of the activities are free. Visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch and spend the afternoon.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Enter the park at the north gate on Mississippi River Boulevard near Magoffin Avenue.
